Week 7 (Week of 5 Apr)

Week 6 (Week of 29 March)

  1. Quiz 1 resubmissions are due on Sunday (28 Mar) at 10pm Eastern. Unlike other assignments, late submissions will not be accepted for the resubmission assignment, so please plan accordingly.

Week 5 (Week of 22 March)

  1. Quiz 1 will be held on Thursday, 25 March, from 7:35-9:25pm Eastern. Quiz 1 Information and Practice Materials are still available. The quiz itself can be accessed via one of the following links:

    The resubmission process will open on 26 March at 8am Eastern and will close on Sunday evening (28 March) at 10pm Eastern.

  2. Long Weekend Office Hours Schedule: This weekend is a holiday weekend, which will affect 6.009's schedule as follows:

    • We will not be holding our regular office hours on Sunday (21 March), though we will still be available to answer questions via the forum.

    • We will be holding our normal office hours on Monday (22 March), according to the Monday schedule (7pm-10pm Eastern).

    • We will hold office hours on Tuesday (23 March), but according to Sunday's schedule (7am-10pm Eastern).

  3. Quiz 1: Quiz 1 will be held on Thursday, 25 March, from 7:35-9:25pm Eastern. Quiz 1 Information and Practice Materials are now available. If you have any questions after reading that information, please feel free to reach out via the forum.

Week 3 (Week of 8 March)

  1. Holiday Weekend Office Hours Schedule: This weekend is a holiday weekend, which will affect 6.009's schedule as follows:

    • We will not be holding our regular office hours on Sunday (7 March), though we will still be available to answer questions via the forum.

    • We will be holding office hours on Monday (8 March), but according to Sunday's schedule (7am-10pm Eastern).

    • We will hold our normal office hours on Tuesday (9 March), according to the Tuesday schedule (7am-10am and 7pm-10pm Eastern).

Week 2 (Week of 1 March)

  1. Optional Lecture Q&A: Reminder that each week, we will hold an optional Q&A session for each lecture during the nominal lecture time (Mondays 11am-12:30pm Eastern), as an opportunity to come and ask questions related to the material covered in lecture, or other general questions. These sessions will be run using the same infrastructure that we use for recitations, and a link for each session will be available from the calendar below shortly before the start of that session.

  2. Progress page: You can now track your progress in 6.009 using this page.

  3. Recitation section assignments have been made based on the information provided in the student survey.

    Update: As of 5:30 pm Sunday (21 February), section assignments have been updated based on requests and should be reflected in your section shown above.

    If you have not been assigned a section, or if you would like to change your section, please fill out the recitation section change form.

  4. Information and Policies: Please be sure to read and understand all of the course grading, lateness, and collaboration policies. These have some differences compared to past semesters, so it will be important to understand the rules and expectations for this semester.

  5. Course Forum: If you have questions, please post on the 6.009 Forum! Note that this semester we will be using Discourse rather than Piazza in an effort to explore new capabilities (and to avoid your data being shared with an outside company).

Week 0 (Week of 15 Feb)

  1. Welcome to 6.009! We're looking forward to working with you all this semester!

  2. Student Survey: If you have not already done so, please please fill out this brief survey as soon as possible.

  3. Firsts:

    • Our first lecture video will release on Monday evening (15 February). It will introduce 6.009, including some of its infrastructure. The lecture will become available from a link in the calendar below.

    • Our first live class meeting will be a recitation on Wednesday, 17 February. Attendance and participation at recitations is expected. We will doing our own recitation section assignments, so please fill out your preferences in the student survey linked above.

    • Our first lab will release on Tuesday morning (16 February). It will become available via a link in the calendar below. It comes due on Friday afternoon (19 February) at 5pm Eastern time, with a checkoff due next Wednesday (24 February) at 10pm Eastern.

    • Our first office hours will be held on Tuesday evening (16 February), from 7pm-10pm Eastern time. You can use the help queue to ask for help during those office hours.
